Also known as the Pyrrhuloxia, this bird is quite similar in appearance and song to the Northern Cardinal, however its bright red resides in details on the face, tail, wing, and crest, while the rest of the bird is gray. Like their red relatives, they are attracted to bird feeders. However they are found in desert scrub areas of the southwest US, as well as north and central Mexico.
